The Original Little Big Girl
What better way to initiate our blog than by introducing you to the little girl who is the original Big Girl. We love the unabashed glee she brings to her mixing chores, licking her lips in anticipation of licking the bowl. She’s only two years old in this picture, it’s Thanksgiving and it’s a pumpkin pie, by the way. She’s so very happy in this moment and she’s already hooked. A big wide world of cookies, cakes and pies awaits her and she also will learn that there is something so satisfying, almost meditative, in the rituals and rhythms of baking. But that will all come later. For right now, there is the warm kitchen, fragrant with the scents of cinnamon and allspice; there’s mommy close by, rolling out pie crust on the kitchen counter and there is joy…and truth in baking.
We are three sisters: Jody, Aimee and Regina and we’re Big Girl Baking Co. We’ll take turns writing and we look forward to sharing with you.
